Describe the courses you offer and the techniques you use to teach them.
A graduate of Argosy University, Vanessa holds a B.A. in Psychology. She has studied music since childhood, including instruction at Crossroads College in Rochester, MN where she received her A.A. in Biblical Studies and Theology. She has recently transferred from Minnesota and now lives in Raleigh with her husband.
Vanessa began teaching Kindermusik® in 2003 and has since been enjoying the journey. Singing, dancing and being silly, while changing the lives of children and familiesâ??she cannot imagine a more fulfilling job. In addition to Kindermusik®, her career in early childhood development includes several years of teaching infants and toddlers, a daycare assistant directorship, as well as her current position as nanny.
As a Sign2Me® presenter, Vanessa is able to share her passion for ASL with more families and children. She has used ASL in preschools and has trained daycare staff and parents in using ASL to improve communication with infants and toddlers.
She highly values the impact that both ASL and music have on a childâ??s development and is honored to be able to share these gifts with children and their families. As an educator of young children, Vanessa realizes the important role parents play in the life of a child and is honored to contribute to their development.
Expectant parents, as well as parents and caregivers of newborns through 3 years old are encouraged to participate in this workshop with their children.
