Presenter Profile
Carrie Harris, M. Ed., Deaf Education
I have a masters degree in Deaf education from Boston University, where I completed vigorous coursework in ASL linguistics and language development. During my studies, I spent a year at Gallaudet University as a visiting student, taking additional language and culture courses. For the past 6 years, I have worked as a classroom teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children, where American Sign Language was the primary mode of communication.
Currently, I am taking some time off from teaching to stay at home with my daughter with whom I have been signing since birth. She has been very receptive to it and uses signs regularly throughout the day.
