Presenter Profile
Sarah Stankiewicz has been an Interpreter for the Deaf since 1999. She first became interested in sign language at the age of 12 while watching an interpreter at a large convention. As soon as Sarah finished high school, she started looking into college programs that offered more than just some sign classes. She found what she was looking for at a nearby community college. Sarah graduated from the Lansing Community College Interpreter Training Program in Lansing, MI and also received her Associates in Applied Arts and Education degree there. Upon graduation, Sarah received her QA level from the state of Michigan and went on to interpret in various settings. After doing a lot of research for various papers in college, Sarah discovered that the benefits of teaching infants American Sign Language were numerous. When she had her first child she started to incorporate basic signs into her daughter's daily routine. Not too long after, her daughter started to use the signs too!

Sarah is now the mother of three young children and she makes her home in Cross Junction, VA. Sarah would love to help you discover the joy of communicating with your young children.
