Workshops and Preschools by Stacy Thompson-author "Teach Your Tot to Sign, A Parents Guide to American Sign Language
I have taught in large preschools and small schools as well. I travel to the preschool to instruct the teachers how to incorporate signing into their classrooms. We either do this during an in-service or during the evening. I teach parent workshops at the preschool so they can sign at home with their children. We have a lot of fun singing and learning how to sign. The benefits of signing in the classroom are endless. Please contact me for further information.
I have over 18 years of experience with American Sign Language. I obtained my Bachelor Degree in Deaf Studies from California State University Northridge in 1997. Shortly there after, my husband and I moved to Colorado and I began teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students at an elementary school level.
I started signing with my son when he was 9 months old and I was fascinated with how quickly he could sign back. It was wonderful to know what he wanted. This led me to Sign With Your Baby and I became a presenter in 2001. I had another child and I was so impressed to see how both of my children could communicate with each other using sign language.
I am the author of "Teach Your Tot to Sign, A Parents Guide to American Sign Language". This book contains over 550 signs geared towards infants, toddlers and young children.
