Presenter Profile
Signing is so much fun! As a certified Parent Educator and and ICEA Childbirth Educator, I learned about signing long before I had my first child. However, it was not until I started signing with my daughter that I realized how much fun it could be for the whole family.

We started when she was just 7 months old. By the time she was 9 months she was signing "more", she slowly added signs until around her first birthday when her ability to sign exploded. She really enjoyed being able to let us know what she needed and wanted. And oh my did it make things easier for us. Signing reduced frustration for our child and for us as parents.

Now she is 3 years old, and talks so much that she only signs if you ask her to or if we are playing signing games. Signing games are a great way to hold on to this fun and valuable language. Games are also a good way to keep toddlers busy while waiting for service at the restaurant or the doctor's office, and you don't need to bring toys, you've got your hands!

I tell parents wherever I go about the benefits and joy of signing.

One happy, signing family
