I was introduced to American Sign Language in 1994 as a college student. I immediately fell in love! I was able to gain ASL fluency during my employment at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf. I have worked in the Deaf community and traveled the country conducting educational workshops that spread awareness of this beautiful language and the rich culture of the community that uses it. Recently, I have taught ASL at Marshfield High School.
As a mom to two small children, I know how beneficial signing can be in understanding a child's needs and wants.
