About Creative Hands Signing
Creative Hands Sigining offers an exciting and fun way to learn to communicate with your child, whether they are preverbal or chattering up a storm.
Creative Hands "Sign and Play" classes are a fun, interactive way for families to learn sign together. By teaching your child signs, you are giving them the tools to express themselves many monthes before they will be able to speak. Learning ASL (American Sign Language) with your children creates stronger family bonds, lower stress levels for all involved, and a strong foundation for their educational future. Plus, unlike other "baby gesture" programs, teaching your child the basics of ASL gives them a head start on learning a second language that they can use as they grow!
We offer 6-week classes, workshops, and seminars. We will also offer Jambooda Music and Movement classes, starting in Spring 2009.
Anastasia has spent most of her life caring for and educating children, through jobs including babysitter, camp counselor, nanny, teacher, and professional youth program director. Before having her son, Anastasia was a Trainer and Family Recreation Director for the YMCA, running camps, team sports programs, and parent-child toddler sports.
Under the influence of her sister, a nationally certified interpreter, Anastasia learned basic ASL during pregnancy and has since taught her toddler son over 150 signs. They use this dynamic language daily to talk about their days.
Anastasia is now using her years of experience in education and corporate training to offer exciting and colorful ASL sign and play classes to families and community organizations. Her goal in this business is to pass on the great gift that she and her son, Logan, were given by her sister.
