Babies are kinesthetic learners, and natually use their body to learn, I will help you hone in on this important aspect. A folder of handouts and references are provided. The workshop is geared toward new and expecting parents who want to begin signing early with their baby. Learn from an instructor who signed as a baby!

This class is designed for ages 6-24 months and promotes the use of American Sign Language for lifelong benefits. A brief discussion will cover ways to build signing opportunities and allow for sharing success stories. Each week 15 themed signs will be introduced and practiced with lively interaction through books, music, and play. In addition to the 15 signs for each week's topic, we incorporate Hullabaloo's music (a highly sought after local children's band) for an extra twist of fun, afterall fun promotes learning! Discover what your baby is thinking! Class session is 45 minutes. Registration fee $ 100. There is a session 1 and a session 2 which can be taken in any order. Families wishing to advance their signing knowledge can request to be added to the waiting list for the highly specialized session 3.
Sign4Baby instructor Joann Woolley has signed since infancy and recalls the countless times telling the story of being able to communicate through sign language before walking or talking. Growing up with a mother who is deaf enabled Joann to become fluent in American Sign Language and experience firsthand the dramatic impact signing has in cognitive development. Now having her own children, Amberly age 2 and Kyle 9 months, she found that teaching them to sign created a bonding experience unparalleled by other parenting practices. This is what sparked the desire for Joann to help other parents discover what their baby is thinking.
