American Sign Language for Babies and Tots
Weekly 6 week program that meets for one hour per week.
I received my B.S. degree in Communication Disorders: Hearing Impaired Option from Penn State in 1985 and my paralegal certificate from the Swouthwest Paralegal Institute in 1994.
I have also received interpreting certifications from the state of Texas, National Association of the Deaf and the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf. In 1991, I started my first company, Sign Language Communications, Inc. (SLC). SLC was a community agency providing interpreting, employment, literacy and deaf blind services. In 1997, I began a training and development company, Texas Signing Series providing educational seminars.
My experience in the profession includes interpreting, being an evaluator for the Board of Evlauators of Interpreters for the State of Texas, teaching ASL and Interpreting courses at the community college as well as a multitude of training seminars.
I moved to California in 2000 and began working as a medical and legal interpreter, teaching ASL, mentoring interpreters and I became a Mom.
My twin sons have been exposed to sign language since birth and are constantly adding new signs to their vocabulary everyday!
