Course Description
Classes for parents and children teach ASL signs in a fun, interactive format. Activities are provided to help learn and remember the signs as you learn to enhance communication skills. Workshops for teachers, child care providers, and professionals teach ASL signs to use with children. Speech and language development, working with children with disabilities, and ways to incorporate signs into daily activities are also discussed. Presenter Profile
I am a certified speech-language pathologist who screens, evaluates, and treats children with speech or language delays. I first began learning ASL in 1992 and have been teaching signs to parents and professionals for five years. Seeing the positive impact of using signs with children has been rewarding. Many parents report feeling more bonded with their child and empowered for knowing what their child is trying to communicate. Location, Time, and Duration
