ASLasl's 3 Programs
All of ASLasl's classes, workshops, and presentations fall under one of its 3 programs:

Advantage Program

ASL-As a Second Language offers American Sign Language classes and workshops to help increase early communication skills among family members creating earlier bonding, conversation, and behavioral intervention. Prospective and young parents learn the value of and research behind early language introduction and how it gives preverbal children an advantage in building cognitive, social, and emotional skills throughout the years to come.

Augmentation Program

ASL-As a Second Language offers classes to promote the general well-being of children that comes from building confidence in their abilities. School-aged children build their academic and leadership skills through a variety of class offerings geared specifically for their age or needs. The better these children perform in school, the better they will feel about themselves. With more self-confidence comes better decision-making and citizenship.

Advancement Program

ASL-As a Second Language offers classes and seminars to help increase Deaf/deaf/hard of hearing (D/d/hh) awareness, teach cultural diversity, and help those who need to enter the Deaf community. Family members of the D/d/hh, those who wish to enter a communication-disorder career, and the community at large will benefit from increased knowledge of the D/d/hh as the mid-south's 40 thousand D/d/hh live and work among them.
